Bacteriophage has the characteristic of “devouring bacteria over and over again”; killing specific pathogenic bacteria selectively whilst having no impact on the general beneficial bacteria. In 2011, ‘antibiotics for feed additives’ became prohibited to use in Korea, and prohibition of antibiotics due to tolerance issues expanded into a global trend and new regulations. In this context, Bacteriophage, which does not cause tolerance issues and reduces harmful pathogenic bacteria to increase animal productivity, has been receiving attention not only in Korea, but also around the world. ctcbio launched Bacteriophage as a feed additive used for swine, poultry and cattle farming in Korea in 2010, even before the use of antibiotics became prohibited, and participated in various national projects to develop various other products such as Bacteriophage for fish farming and the edema disease of swine, etc. As of 2023, products are being exported to over 15 countries including China, Mexico, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, India and Malaysia.
